The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture exhibits a greatly improved image over the previously released non-anamorphic DVD (Issue 28). Colors are more vibrant, with improved balance, more accurately rendered fleshtones, and deeper blacks. Images are sharp and clean, with improvements in definition and clarity. Viewed alone, the DVD still exhibits a few distractions in the way of pixelization, but edge enhancement is not a problem. The source element is revealing of quite a bit of film grain, dirt, and artifacts. (Suzanne Hodges)
