DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD stands out as being more stylized than the other creature feature titles. The exteriors in the beginning of the movie have a harsh highly contrasted quality, with vibrant blue monochromatic scenes or weak undersaturation with spot colors like bright green foliage. As the movie progresses to the modern-day warehouse, colors are much more fully saturated and balanced, with deep, solid blacks, and natural and plentiful fleshtones. The spinning hand-held camerawork and in-your-face filming is a trademark of Larry Clark movies. Grain is quite perceivable in these scenes. Pixelization can be bothersome at times, but there is minimal pixelization. (Suzanne Hodges)A modified 1.33:1 version is also included (not reviewed).
