DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits a picture that is generally satisfying. Images are generally sharp, though there are some scenes which exhibit a soft focus and fine definition can be lacking at times. Colors are rich and touch oversaturation at times, with hues that occasionally appear plugged-up. Blacks are deep and often undefined. Contrast seems a bit low, but shadow delineation is satisfying in the many nighttime chase scenes which take you through warehouses and dark alleys. Pixelization and edge enhancement can be bothersome. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
The 5.1 soundtracks feature generally modest to moderate dimensionality. Poignant split surround activity can be noticed with many of the gunshots and bullet fly-bys. The dialogue has been remarkably well-recorded, and voices have remarkably natural tonality. The sense of spaciousness in general is apparent across the screen but noticeably subtle in the surrounds.
