DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD exhibits a dated picture, often displaying slightly undersaturated colors. Other scenes exhibit nicley saturated hues that are nicely balanced, with satisfying fleshtones and deep, but undefined blacks. The picture is quite clean with few artifacts and little film grain. Unfortuntely, edge enhancement is quite a problem and cannot be avoided. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
The Dolby Digital 5.1-channel repurposed soundtrack includes a nice music score from Burt Bacharach. The music nicely fills the listening space with a fairly palatable sense of envelopment. Atmospheric effects are similarly rendered with a gentle, yet quite noticeable, perception of spaciousness. The music and certain effects also have some low-end content, a result of the soundtrack remastering. In addition to the noticeable ambience, directionality across the screen can occasionally be noticed. (Perry Sun)
