    The Director

    DVD Picture:
    The anamorphically enhanced Superbit 1.85:1 DVD offers subtle improvements over the previously issued DVD, as has been the case with all Superbit editions. Edge enhancement can still be a problem. While picture has a dated appearance with film grain and occasional artifacts revealed from the source element, images are quite nicely rendered. There appears to be some loss of detail that could be related to overused digital video noise reduction, as with the previous DVD. (Suzanne Hodges)
