Special Notes:
The "4.0" audio symbol on the back jacket is labeled incorrectly as "Quad." The correct configuration is three front channels and one surround channel, not two front/two surround.
Story Synopsis:
Small for his age, "Lucas" (Haim) is much more interested in looking at insects and reading books than he is in playing sports. But after meeting Maggie (Green), he suddenly realizes that there's much more to school than studying. After joining the cheerleading squad Maggie falls for football hero Cappie (Sheen) so Lucas, anxious to impress her, decides to join the team, too. In way over his head Lucas is seriously injured during a game and is sent to the hospital, but when he returns to school he discovers what it means to be part of a team and what true friendship is all about. (Tricia Littrell)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits a picture that is slightly dated in appearance, but with colors that can be nicely balanced with accurate fleshtones and deep blacks. While images can appear a bit soft at times, details can be quite satisfying and contrast and shadow delineation are nicely rendered. The source element is revealing of a small amount of film grain and occasional artifacts. There is some minor pixelization and occasional edge enhancement. (Suzanne Hodges)
