    This two-disc special edition includes on Disc One the movie with director's audio commentary and cast and crew filmographies. Disc Two is loaded with supplements, beginning with a 44-minute Search For The Mothman featurette, which includes theories and true accounts from the encounters at Point Pleasant, WV. A featurettes submenu takes you to two 30-minute "Day By Day" segments, which are director Mark Pellington's video journals about the pains and pleasures of making the film. Finally, there are five deleted scenes, the "Halflight" music video by Low with tomandandy featuring Indrid Cold; and the theatrical trailer and bonus trailers.

    Story Synopsis:
    Based on true events and the book by John A. Keel,

    DVD Picture:
    The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD appears to be the same as the previously released DVD, and has an edgy visual style to complement the eerie storytelling. Film grain inherent in the source is used to give the picture a gritty appearance. There are many scenes which were digitally manipulated to add even more visual intrigue. Colors are well balanced, with accurate fleshtones and deep, silvery blacks. At times, the picture has a cold, highly contrasted characteristic. Images are sharp and nicely detailed, with pleasing definition. Unfortunately, edge enhancement can be quite bothersome. There is also a bit of pixelization noticed. (Suzanne Hodges)
