The anamorphically enhanced DVD exhibits a picture with a color scheme that gives a nostalgic feeling to this classic musical. Presented in its 2.20:1 Todd-AO aspect ratio (despite the 2.35:1 claim found on the jacket) and created from a 65mm interpositive, hues can be subtle and natural, with lots of neutral browns and brownish fleshtones. Other times, the lovely costumes and sets reveal bold reds and bright violets. Images are generally sharp and detailed, though some scenes appear softly focused or slightly smeared.
