DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits a picture that is slightly improved over the previously released DVD. Colors are very similar, with brownish fleshtones and brownish-blacks. However, hues like reds and greens can be richly saturated. Images can be sharp and detailed at times, but there are many scenes that appear soft and hazy. Viewing in a completely blackened room is recommended for the dim scenes and limited contrast. There are a few flecks of dirt noticed in the source element. The most noticeable improvement is the decrease in annoying edge enhancement on the new version. (Suzanne Hodges)
