DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD (mislabeled on jacket) exhibits a picture with rich, warm colors that can, at times, appear a bit hot; with bold, vivid reds and blues, and deep, solid blacks. The color scheme can be quite stylized to help set the tone of different locations. Images are sharp, with satisfying detail. Contrast and shadow delineation are well balanced. The source element is revealing of plenty of film grain and occasional artifacts. Edge enhancement can be quite a distraction at times, and is capable of distracting those less scrutinizing. Pixelization is occasionally noticed causing minor image breakup. (Suzanne Hodges)
