DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD picture exhibits some dated qualities, but can appear very nicely rendered at times. Colors saturation is satisfying, with mostly accurate (sometimes brownish) fleshtones and generally deep blacks. While the picture is generally sharp with good contrast, finer details and shadow delineation are a bit wanting. At times, notably in the darker scenes, the picture can appear a bit pasty. Edge enhancement is frequently detected at a distracting level and there is also some pixelization noticed. The source element is revealing of some flecks of dirt and occasional film grain.
