Story Synopsis:
Set in Sydney, Australia in 1969, "Dirty Deeds" (done dirt cheap.... Sorry, bad joke.) follows the antics of gangster Barry Ryan (Brown) and the crime underworld he calls his life. When a Chicago Mafioso sends two of his boys, Tony (Goodman) and Sal (Felix Williamson), down under to take over the scene, Barry is determined that he will win the fight, no matter who he has on his side! (Tricia Littrell)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1-framed DVD exhibits a stylized picture that offers lots of warm hues. Fleshtones are well balanced and blacks are deep and solid in this picture that is often saturated golds or greens. Bold spot colors stand out in a blown-out scene with high contrast. Images are sharp and nicely detailed, with pleasing textures and definition. There are a few scenes that appear a bit flat. Distractions are limited in the way of pixelization, but edge enhancement can be noticed at times. In a word, the picture is stylish. (Suzanne Hodges)The disc also includes a modified 1.33:1 (4:3) full screen version of the movie -- not reviewed.
