Story Synopsis:
Going home after being absent for years, Harry Collings (Fonda) returns to his wife Hannah (Bloom) much to her displeasure at seeing him again. Asking to be able to stay and work as The Hired Hand she agrees, and the two start to rebuild their relationship discovering that their love for each other is still true. The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits a picture with dated fidelity, appearing a bit soft and lacking a clean, crisp appearance. Nonetheless, the Vilmos Zsigmond ("Close Encounters Of The Third Kind," "The Deer Hunter") cinematography is engrossing and beautiful. Colors are actually well-balanced, with pleasant blue skies contrasting the dusty roads and dry plains.
