DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD features the richly colored, stylized cinematography of Edward Lachman, but the picture often appears oversaturated and poorly contrasted. The picture is often a little on the soft side, though details can be nicely rendered. Many scenes are awash in reddish hues, and images appear muddy and undefined. At other times, the color palette is better balanced, but still borders oversaturation. Edge enhancement can be extremely bothersome when present. Pixelization is also noticed at times.
