    Story Synopsis:
    "One Million Years B.C." is the remake of the 1940 adventure "One Million B.C." Raquel Welch stars in her first leading role, dressed in the fur bikini that helped make her a household name in the '60s. Following a violent confrontation, Tumak (Richardson) is cast from his tribe of the savage Rock people, and sets out alone into the vast wasteland. He is discovered by Loana (Welch) of the gentle Shell people, who nurses him back to health. But his volatile nature inevitably leaves him without a tribe once again. But this time he will not face the perilous land alone, for Loana has fallen in love with him and follows closely behind. Adapted from an original screenplay by Mickell Novak, George Baker and Joseph Frickert. (Gary Reber)

    The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture, despite extensive restoration efforts, still can look dated, with lots of grain, dirt, and scratches inherent in the source element. Color saturation is satisfactory though wanting in more natural gradients at times. The darker scenes are limited in visual information. Edge enhancement is noticed at times, but pixelization is not a problem. (Suzanne Hodges)
