DVD Picture:
While the previously released DVD (Issue 28) was not anamorphic, this new 1.85:1 DVD is anamorphically enhanced. The picture is much sharper with a color palette that is better saturated and more naturally delineated than the previous DVD. Viewed alone, the picture is sharp with nicely rendered textures, though sometimes the picture has a soft appearance. The color palette utilizes lots of browns and golds, but other hues and fleshtones are well balanced. The source element is revealing of some dirt and film grain, but nothing that can be considered excessive. Overall, the visual quality is excellent with stunning cinematography by Oscar
