Story Synopsis:
When Peaches (Mo'Nique) has to come up with $50,000 quick to pay the tax man, she heads straight from her Baltimore hair salon to her estranged sister Angela's (Smith) Beverly Hills shop. It's not exactly love at first sight and when Angela learns of Peaches' money troubles, she's less than excited. Peaches wants to enter a "Hair Show" to win the Grand Prize to pay off her debts, but Angela has no interest in such things. But when she finds out that her enemy Marcella (Torres) is in the competition, all bets are off as Angela is determined to prove who's the classiest stylist in town. (Tricia Spears)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture exhibits a well balanced color palette that is rich and natural, featuring accurate fleshtones, vibrant hues, and deep blacks. Images are sharp and detailed with nicely rendered contrast and shadow delineation. At times, a slightly gritty texture is noticed in the picture. Images occasionally appear a bit edgy, but blatant halos are non-existent. There are a few occasional artifacts and minor pixelization, but the picture is perfectly acceptable for the genre.
