Story Synopsis:
"Because Of Winn-Dixie" young Opal (Robb) isn't as lonely as she used to be. Longing for a friend after moving to the small town of Naomi with her preacher father (Daniels), Opal rescues the mutt from the local grocery store. Convincing her dad to let her keep him isn't easy, especially with the grouchy landlord demanding that the dog leave. But for as much trouble as Winn-Dixie causes, he brings that much more joy to the lives he touches and helps Opal make friends in unexpected places. Based on the novel by Kate DiCamillo. (Tricia Spears)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture exhibits a nicely balanced color scheme and images that are sharp and detailed. However, there is a gritty, edgy appearance to the picture with bothersome edge enhancement noticed. Overall, this picture is generally mediocre. (Suzanne Hodges)
