Story Synopsis:
Do-il and Mi-sook, a husband and wife who are unable to conceive a child of their own, decide to adopt a young boy. But the boy seems distant and spends much of his time alone by a dead Acacia tree. Soon, Mi-sook becomes pregnant and the boy becomes even more detatched...yet the tree begins to bloom and horrible things start happening. (Suzanne Hodges)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture exhibits a color scheme that can err on the green side, with brighter scenes that appear slightly blown-out and pasty. Even in these brighter scenes, the visuals are effectively spooky. Images have a slightly soft appearance, though details can be nicely rendered at times. Contrast is weak, however, and contributes to limited detail. Minor pixelization is apparent, but there is no bothersome edge enhancement. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
Impressive phantom imaging and deep, solid bass throughout the presentation highlight the Korean language Dolby
