Story Synopsis:
What do you get when you have a bunch of comedians talking about topics like serving beauty salon prison sentences (what are you in for?), problems with the wind chill factor (how can 65 degrees feel like 10?), and being the king of the road (whether or not to use a turn signal)? You get The Big Black Comedy Show (developed by Ralph Farquhar and Tony Smith)! And this Volume Three DVD, shot at the Harold Washington Cultural Center in Chicago, brings on the laughs. DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD picture delivers this stand-up comedy show with picture quality that is suitable for the content. Colors are nicely balanced, with vibrant stage lighting, nicely rendered fleshtones, and deep black backgrounds (while some shots have a sepia-toned appearance). The picture is generally sharp and detailed, though there are some soft edges and minor shimmering details. Depending on the source camera, occasional shots exhibit moire artifacts or minor stairstepping. (Suzanne Hodges)
