WSR Narrative Review

Story Synopsis:
The Blues Brothers is an off-the-wall musical comedy that tells the story of Jake and Elwood Blues (John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd), two hoodlum brothers searching for redemption, who set out to locate and re-enlist the members of their defunct rhythm and blues band in order to raise some honest money to save the orphanage where they grew up.

DVD Picture:
As with the previous DVD release, colors on this new anamorphically enhanced DVD picture can appear dull at times, while saturation can be quite satisfying in other scenes. Sharpness and details are adequate throughout. The source element is revealing of film grain and flecks of dirt. Edge halos can appear obtrusive in higher contrast scenes, and there is some pixelization noticed at times. (Suzanne Hodges)
