There are four offerings under Special Effects: a 15-minute SFX Team Featurette; Special Effects Before & After with Multi-Angle, which gives you the option of comparing the rough cut of three scenes in the film before and after the final effects were added; production photos; and conceptual drawings. There are also 12 storyboards in the Ghostly Gallery and three film-to-storyboard split scene comparisons.
Story Synopsis:
When the bewitching Dana Barrett (Weaver) discovers that her refrigerator has suddenly become a portal into the spiritual dimension, a quartet of paranormal investigators (Murray, Aykroyd, Ramis & Hudson) known as the Ghostbusters race into action. Eventually the entire city of New York is under siege from the evil Zuul and his slimey cohorts.
DVD Picture:
This new 2.38:1 DVD release exhibits a very similar picture when compared to the previous release, with the exception that it appears slightly brighter. Colors are well balanced and nicely saturated, though a bit dated. As with the previous DVD, the source element used for the transfer is revealing of flecks of dirt and film grain. Images can have a soft appearance, though details and definition can be satisfying. This DVD should not disappoint, even though by today
