Story Synopsis:
Matt Fletcher (Van Dien) is an archaeologist with a really big problem. The ground shakes below his dig as a giant mummy awakens. Can he and his crew survive the terror? The Fallen Ones proves that everyone loves a good low-budget movie (no matter how bad it may be). The impressive array of supplements include a 27-minute making-of featurette; a brief Creating Aramis The Mummy highlight; audio commentary; the trailer; a behind-the-scenes still gallery; a storyboard gallery; and the DVD-ROM screenplay. (Suzanne Hodges)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD picture can look quite good at times, with the opening sequence taking place at night and delivering nice, deep blacks. The color in those shots and the creative lighting reveal pleasing details and textures. At other times during the presentation, the picture can appear soft, plugged-up, or smeared. There is some pixelization. (Suzanne Hodges)
