Story Synopsis:
Dean Stiffle (Bell) is your normal run-of-the-mill teenager living in identical-home suburbia with a note-scribbling father (Fichtner) and lifestyle-pushing mother (Janney), but when he finds his best friend dead and fails to share this with anyone, he turns this seemingly idyllic community on end, with all characters' lives unravelling and colliding to a sad end. Falling into the "dark comedy" genre, The Chumscrubber is actually a surreal and ultimately sad look into the medicated and ignored life of urban teenagers. (Jack Kelley)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.40:1 DVD picture looks great, with a color palette that is richly saturated throughout. The picture is sharp and nicely detailed overall, with pleasing textures and definition. Images are clean and smooth, with no bothersome pixelization or edge enhancement. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
The surround channels are not used often in the Dolby
