DVD Picture:
Stylish visuals and eye-popping colors create a fascinating palette for this anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD. A dreamlike circus of vivid reds and greens chromatically contrast a cold desaturated blue-gray appearance when tragedy strikes the main character. The picture embarks on an even more visually ambitious tale when dreams and reality mix in a disorienting atmosphere of emanating light and the perception of classic film flicker. Nothing should surprise you with this picture, except if you should see obtrusive pixelization or edge enhancement. The variable bit rate remains quite high and is evidenced by a smooth and solid picture. (Suzanne Hodges)
