Story Synopsis:
Ralph Walker (Butcher) is a 14-year-old boy who's taking care of himself while his severely ill mother is in the hospital. After getting into trouble yet again at St. Magnus Catholic School, Ralph is ordered to join the cross-country team to release some of his energy. After Ralph's mother slips into a coma he's told that it will take a miracle to wake her up, and shortly after his coach Father Hibbert (Scott) says that it would take a miracle for anyone from the cross-country team to win the Boston Marathon. Convinced that he can make miracles happen, "Saint Ralph" begins training for the grueling race, never thinking for a minute that he might not win. (Tricia Spears)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture looks quite pleasing overall. The picture is clean and solid, with satisfying sharpness and detail. While the color palette can appear somewhat weak, it is quite complementary to the setting of the story. There is no bothersome pixelization, and rarely any edge enhancement. (Suzanne Hodges)
