Story Synopsis:
This is the tragic true story of a young man whose wrong choices and actions cost him his life. Derek Bentley (Eccleston) was a misunderstood 19-year-old who got caught up hanging around with the wrong crowd. While with trouble-maker Chris Craig (Reynolds) one day, the police were called and Chris pulled out a gun. Derek yelled "Let Him Have It, Chris" leading Chris to pull the trigger. Whether Derek meant for Chris to turn over the gun or to kill the policeman was for the court to decide; a decision that lead to the execution of Derek Bentley. The public outrage at the fate of Derek Bentley greatly contributed to the eventual abolition of capital punishment in Great Britain. (Tricia Spears)

The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits a soft picture, with colors that tend to appear dated, but adequately balanced. Dirt and film grain are inherent in the source element. Minor edge halos and pixelization are apparent. (Suzanne Hodges)
