Story Synopsis:
American undercover agent Mike Varga (Dorff) is a mole working for the relentless Russian "Godfather" Darius Paskevik (Hoskins) in Budapest. But while winning the confidence of Darius, Varga falls in love with the mobster's daughter Katya (Fraser). Soon Varga finds his own life in danger as suspicions begin to grow as to who he really is. DVD Picture:
Anamorphically enhanced at 1.82:1, the DVD picture exhibits a slightly washed-out color palette with milky blacks. Fleshtones are generally accurate and hues are dark and drab, but complementary for the Russian setting. The picture can appear a bit soft, but details are satisfactory. Contrast is adequate, but shadow detail is limited with visual information often dropping off with little delineation. Pixelization is noticed at times, but there is no bothersome edge enhancement.
