Story Synopsis:

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.66:1 pillarboxed DVD picture has a subdued and understated color palette that gives the picture a sense of the period in which the story takes place. Details and textures are adequate, and the picture has an overall sharp appearance. The source element has been nicely cleaned up, yet retains fine film grain and a few flecks of dirt. Compression is nicely done, as pixelization is rarely an issue. Only in the higher contrast scenes, are minor edge halos noticed. (Suzanne Hodges)
