The only special feature on Disc One is a trailer. The bonus materials are on Disc Two include a 54-minute "Rehearsals" featurette and a 66-minute "The Reluctant Movie Star" making-of featurette. Disc Three includes three more featurettes: "Witnesses To History #1 (58 minutes), "The Burnt Scrapbook" (31 minutes), and "Chuckisms" (18 minutes). And Disc Three offers "Witnesses To History #2," which is a series of interviews with Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddley, The Everly Brothers, Willie Dixon, Roy Orbison, Sam Phillips, and Ahmet Ertegun.
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD picture exhibits typical quality for a documentary feature. Images are generally sharp, detailed, and smooth, and colors can be well balaned, depending on the source element. Of course, some scenes are undefined and hazy and colors can be washed out. Source element artifacts and anomalies can be noticed, but compression is nicely done, with high bit rates and rare pixelization. (Suzanne Hodges)
