Story Synopsis:
Poor Penelope Wilhern (Ricci) suffers from a curse that was placed upon her blue-blooded family in the 19th century by a witch whose daughter was scorned by one of Penelope's ancestors. The anamorphically enhanced 2.34:1 DVD shows fair resolution, with the finest details appearing soft. Shadows are defined well, though, helping create an impressive sense of dimension. Black levels are deep and contrast is balanced nicely, but fleshtones appear pasty and plugged up. The color scheme in general favors green hues, and indoor scenes appear smoky and hazy.
