Story Synopsis:
So impressed was Actress Jodie Foster with la Haine
DVD Picture:
While the black-and-white, anamorphically enhanced 1.82:1 DVD can show good contrast and decent gray scale tracking, details generally look soft and under-defined. The image has an enjoyable depth of field, brought on by the good shadow delineation and contrast. Pixilization is never a problem, as Criterion has delivered the image at a very high average bit rate, and edge enhancement, while occasionally noticeable, is not overly distracting.
