  WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
It is late in the Summer of 1857 in Cedar City, Utah and local Mormon Bishop Jacob Samuelson (Voight) is suspicious of a group of settlers who have stopped to rest nearby. Jacob sends his oldest son Jonathan (Ford) to spy on the group, and Jonathan soon falls in love with one of the settlers, a minister

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD shows good color saturation and balance. Black levels are adequately deep and details in the shadows are rendered nicely, although some scenes can look overly hazy. The image can have a pinkish tone, especially noticeable in fleshtones. Details are rendered nicely with good resolution. Edge enhancement is noticeable in some of the higher contrast scenes, although it is not overly distracting. Pixel breakup and compression artifacts can be noticed from time to time, but generally the picture looks clean. (Danny Richelieu)
