Story Synopsis:
While busking on the streets of Dublin, a broken-hearted Irish street-musician and vacuum cleaner repairman (Hansard) finds his soul mate in a married immigrant florist and pianist (Irglova). Realizing you find your harmonic companion only Once in a lifetime, the unlikely couple spend the whole week together, writing and composing songs. (Stacey Pendry)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.83:1 DVD has poor resolution, with smeared details that limit the naturalness of the presentation. Colors are fairly well balanced with good saturation, but there are times when the picture can look somewhat washed out. Black levels are somewhat elevated and details in the shadows can be lost. The picture quality is reminiscent of a low-budget documentary. Edge enhancement is not overly distracting and while compression artifacts and pixel breakup can be noticed on occasion, they are also not overly distracting. (Danny Richelieu)
