Story Synopsis:
Ben Wade (Crowe) and his vicious gang of thieves and murderers plague the Southern Railroad in the Wild West of the 1800s. Civil War veteran Dan Evans (Bale), a struggling rancher, volunteers to deliver the infamous outlaw, Wade, alive, to the 3:10 To Yuma, a train that will take the criminal to trial. With Wade's posse in hot pursuit of the duo, the grueling journey turns into a violent, impossible mission with the two adversaries earning each other's respect. DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD exhibits a very pleasing picture, with fairly well-balanced contrast and solid black levels. Outdoor scenes can look somewhat too hot, but color balance is still good. Shadow delineation is quite good, with details in the shadows delivered nicely. Resolution is good, with fine textures delivered nicely. The color palette gives the picture the look of a western, dominated by warm, earthy tones. Still, sky blues and greens look natural.
