    Story Synopsis:
    When the Soviets invaded Afghanistan in the early 1980s

    DVD Picture:
    The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD shows pale fleshtones, although different shades are delineated nicely. Flesh occasionally has a slightly pinkish hue as well. Black levels are relatively deep, and shadow delineation is nicely rendered. Details are resolved well. Colors are bold and vibrant with natural-looking saturation. Pixel breakup is rarely noticeable, but edge enhancement can be recognized on high-contrast transitions. (Danny Richelieu)
