Story Synopsis:
Set at the turn of the 19th century in South America, the industrial revolution began causing overcrowding and poor living conditions in the cities. This story follows a young telegraph boy, Fiorentino Ariza (Ugalde, Bardem), as he falls in Love In The Time Of Cholera. As soon as Fiorentino sets his gaze on beautiful but shy Fermina Daza (Mezzogiorno), he falls hopelessly under her spell. Considered not suitable for marriage to his lovely daughter, Fermina's father (Leguizamo) arranges to have her sent away to the country, hoping time and distance will erase Fiorentino's memory altogether. For over 50 years, Fiorentino bides his time, waiting for his one true love to return to him. Based on the novel by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. (Stacey Pendry)
