DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.36:1 DVD shows impressive resolution, with fine details delivered nicely to the screen. Black levels are deep, and shadow delineation is nicely rendered. Contrast is balanced very well, and the image has an enjoyable sense of dimensionality. Color fidelity is quite good, with natural fleshtones and naturally vibrant colors. Edge enhancement, which can be especially distracting in bright scenes with high-contrast transitions, is the only defect of this picture. (Danny Richelieu)
