Story Synopsis:
Pump Up The Volume Mark Hunter (Slater) has felt out of place ever since his family moved him to a cookie-cutter suburb in Arizona. To combat his feelings of frustration, he sets up a pirate radio station, invents a sex-obsessed alter-ego DJ, Hard Harry, and rails against his sell-out parents and a high school where the principal (Ross) ignores the well-being of her students in favor of higher SAT scores
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits a picture that is sharp and nicely detailed, but with a slightly dark character. Still, some scenes are softly focused. Colors are rich, with nicely balanced fleshtones, and deep, undefined blacks. The picture has a slightly rough character, and is wanting in a smoother, more natural appearance. Fine details shimmer on occasion, and edge enhancement is also noticed. Minor film grain is revealed throughout, as are minor source element artifacts. (Suzanne Hodges)
