Story Synopsis:
Based on the autobiography of the legendary songwriter and American hero Woody Guthrie, Bound For Glory stars David Carradine as the inspirational poet and humanitarian. The film won Academy Award
DVD Picture:
The 1.85:1 DVD is not anamorphically enhanced and exhibits poor quality. Images are wanting in sharpness and detail, but more distracting is the soft, hazy appearance throughout. Colors are dated and slightly brownish, with brownish fleshtones and whites, and weak blacks. Perhaps colors are stylized for a dated quality, but hues are smeared and undefined throughout. Some minor enhancement is noticed, and pixelization and aliasing problems are likely to distract. Film grain is revealed throughout, occasionally appearing excessive, but artifacts are minor. Despite the unimpressive image quality, the cinematography is engulfing. (Suzanne Hodges)
