DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD, viewed in component video, exhibits generally pleasing quality. While images are generally sharp and detailed with good shadow delineation, contrast is mediocre, with bright backgrounds and on-camera lights sometimes overpowering the foreground. Minor film grain is noticed, as well as pixelization, artifacts and occasional edge enhancement. Colors are balanced and often rich in hue, though sometimes slightly yellow in fleshtone rendering. Blacks are deep and solid. Some may think the film looks amaterish, but overall, the image quality is generally pleasing.
