Story Synopsis:
n November 2007 Finland's Love-Metal heroes HIM played to a sold-out crowd Live At The Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. Filmed and recorded entirely over the two-night gig, Digital Versatile Doom captures the band's explosive 90-minute show and includes live versions from HIM's Grammy
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD shows well-balanced contrast and deep, consistent black levels, but there are scenes where black levels are elevated. Shadow delineation is lacking, with many scenes looking too flat. Naturally-lit shots are difficult to come by, but the stage lighting is bright and saturated. Compression artifacts, by way of mosquito noise, can be recognized, and detail is rather soft. Edge enhancement is minor and generally is not a distraction. (Danny Richelieu)
