DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD exhibits good image quality throughout. Images are generally sharp and nicely defined, with good contrast and shadow delineation. Some scenes, of course are softly focused. Colors are well balanced, with accurate fleshtones, rich hues and deep blacks. There is some minor pixelization detected, as well as some insignificant shimmering, but edge enhancement is virtually undetected. The picture is much improved over the soft, smeared, hazy quality of the LaserDisc reviewed in Issue 13. (Suzanne Hodges)
