Story Synopsis:
Based on the book by Nick Hornby, High Fidelity stars John Cusack as Rob Gordon, owner of Championship Vinyl a record store much like Spin Records here in Temecula; much like every non-chain record shop on the planet. All is right at the store
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD looks great, with images that are sharp and detailed except scenes in which Rob is reminiscing about the girls on his Top 5 Break-Ups List. While colors are not necessarily vibrant, they are nicely balanced with accurate fleshtones and deep blacks. Shadow delineation is excellent. Night club and nighttime scenes are revealing of good visual information in the darkness. The transfer is very clean, with very few incidents of pixelization or artifacts. Only a few artifacts were detected.
