Story Synopsis:
I Dreamed Of Africa stars Kim Basinger as Kuki Galmann (based on her book), a woman drawn to the untamed lands of rural Africa. She leaves behind her a comfortable life in Italy and heads for the Kenyan countryside with her son (Aiken) and new husband Paulo (Perez) to explore the wonders of this beautiful, but often very dangerous land. (Laurie Sevano)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD exhibits beautiful image quality. Colors are nicely rendered with natural fleshtones and deep blacks. Images are sharp and detailed with nicely rendered clarity. Edge enhancement, though minor, is prevalent throughout, and the occasional tractor grille or airplane cause a slight shimmer. Shadow delineation is excellent, with a nice gradation of visual information in the darker scenes. Overall, there are few distractions in the way of pixelization or artifacts.
