There is a making-of featurette, The Gore The Merrier, audio commentary, still galleries, cast and crew biographies, the theatrical trailer, a THX Optimode test signal, and a preview for an Evil Dead video game.
Story Synopsis:
Evil Dead II, the sequel to Evil Dead and the prequel to Army Of Darkness, is a gory, funny and over-the-top horror flick that is all-out fun for those with strong stomachs. Bruce Campbell reprises his role as Ash, with plans for a romantic weekend with his girlfriend. But, after accidentally playing an ancient incantation on a tape recorder, an evil force is awakened
DVD Picture:
Compared to the previously released, non-anamorphic DVD, the anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits a darker picture; but contrast is improved. Images are generally sharp with good definition and detail, but some scenes are a bit soft. Colors are dated, but generally well balanced. Though black levels are a few shades deeper than on the previous version, true depth is wanting. Overall it is a mediocre visual experience, though a lot of what makes the picture less-than-impressive originates from the source. Fans will, nonetheless, be delighted with everything about this DVD. (Suzanne Hodges)
