    DVD Picture:
    There are some slight differences between the anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD and the LaserDisc reviewed in Issue 29. Colors exhibit refinements and there are improvements in sharpness as well. While the LaserDisc picture is slightly smeared, the DVD exhibits improvements in clarity and definition. Viewed alone, the DVD exhibits a pleasing picture, with colors that are fully saturated and nicely balanced. Images are sharp, though some scenes exhibit a soft focus. There are no major distractions, only an occasional shimmer or some minor edge enhancement. (Suzanne Hodges)
