    DVD Picture:
    The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD, compared to the beautiful LaserDisc reviewed in Issue 27, exhibits improvements for a more delightful picture. Images are sharp and detailed, with excellent contrast and shadow delineation. Still, some scenes exhibit a slight soft focus. Refinements in color fidelity create a more natural picture that is easy-on-the-eyes. Occasionally, fine details shimmer slightly. (Suzanne Hodges)
