DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits a nicely rendered picture. Colors are well balanced and fully saturated, with deep blacks, and natural flesh and muppet tones. The picture is generally sharp and can be nicely detailed, but at times appears a bit smeared and wanting in definition. While the picture is generally solid, the source element is revealing of artifacts and a considerable amount of film grain. Details shimmer at times, and there is some minor pixelization. Edge enhancement is generally infrequent. (Suzanne Hodges)
