DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture is somewhat dated, but has a smooth, sharp and nicely detailed appearance. Some scenes appear slightly soft, but detail remains, and there is no apparent smearing. Colors are well balanced, with accurate fleshtones, and deep blacks. There are occasional source element artifacts and dirt detected, but nothing too distracting. Contrast and shadow delineation are nicely rendered, with good visual information in the darker scenes. Edge enhancement is rarely a factor for a picture that should surely please for its age. (Suzanne Hodges)
